FAQ: ConnectBooks Integrations, What Connects to What

ConnectBooks syncs six marketplaces into four accounting systems, and connects a further set of shipping, order management, inventory, and advertising tools alongside them. The questions below are the ones that come up before a seller connects the first channel. Each answer is limited to what the ConnectBooks site states; where the site does not say, the answer says so.

FAQ

Which sales channels does ConnectBooks sync?

Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, eBay, TikTok Shop, and Temu. Each has its own integration page, and each has paired pages for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop and Enterprise, and Xero. For every one of the six, ConnectBooks reconciles the marketplace's settlements or payouts into the ledger at the transaction level, with fees split by type, refunds separated from sales, and COGS relieved under FIFO. The full list, including the non-marketplace tools, is on the integrations page. Google Ads has an integration page but is an advertising platform, not a sales channel.

Which accounting systems does it work with?

QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Enterprise, and Xero. The QuickBooks integrations page covers the three QuickBooks editions, and the Xero integration page covers Xero. Sellers on QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise sometimes assume a cloud-based sync will not reach a desktop file; it does, and the Desktop and Enterprise pairing has its own product page for each marketplace. Those four are the accounting systems ConnectBooks syncs to; if yours is not one of them, ask before signing up.

Does it support international editions of QuickBooks?

The ConnectBooks pricing FAQ states that US, CA, and UK editions of QuickBooks are supported. It does not list other regional editions, so a seller on an Australian or Indian edition should ask ConnectBooks directly before assuming compatibility. The pricing FAQ also states that all currencies are converted to US dollars by default, with a setting to import transactional data in the original currency instead, which matters for sellers whose QuickBooks edition and marketplace currency differ.

Which other tools have integration pages?

Beyond the six marketplaces: Target Plus, ShipStation, Goflow, Sellercloud, Veeqo, Ordoro, Finale Inventory, Nineyard, EZ Cloud, NetSuite, and Google Ads. For each, the verified claim on the site is that ConnectBooks connects that tool's data to QuickBooks or Xero. The site does not publish field-level mappings or sync schedules for these connections, so this FAQ does not either. If the specifics of what flows from a particular tool matter to your setup, ask ConnectBooks support before connecting, and expect the answer to depend on the tool.

Is there an API?

No. The ConnectBooks pricing FAQ states that the platform does not currently provide an open API for external use. Data enters through the built-in marketplace and tool connections and leaves through the QuickBooks or Xero sync and through report exports, which the same FAQ says are available for all reports in Excel format. A seller who needs to push data into ConnectBooks from a system without an integration page, or pull data out programmatically, does not have a supported path today.

What if my channel or tool is not listed?

Contact ConnectBooks and ask. The integrations list on the site is the current set, and this FAQ will not speculate about what might be added or when. In the meantime, a channel without a connection can still be booked by hand into the same chart of accounts the connected channels use, so the P&L stays consistent across channels even if one of them is manual. The setup steps for doing that are the same ones a connected channel goes through, minus the sync.

How far back can ConnectBooks pull data?

Up to 18 months, according to the ConnectBooks pricing FAQ. The same FAQ states that the first six weeks before the signup date are included at no charge with any plan, and that history beyond that carries an additional fee quoted on request. A seller connecting mid-year who wants the full fiscal year in the ledger should plan for the history pull as part of setup, and should identify any months already booked by hand so the pull does not duplicate them.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 30 days. There is no free plan; the trial runs on a paid tier, and the pricing page notes it can be cancelled at any time. The pricing page describes three tiers, Gold, Diamond, and Platinum, distinguished by how much detail reaches the ledger (summary versus per-SKU) and by inventory capability. Pricing scales with monthly order volume and the number of marketplaces connected. The figures, the tier comparison, and the free-trial signup are on the pricing page.

Does Crunch work with integrated data?

Yes. Crunch is the AI analysis feature inside ConnectBooks. It answers questions about profit, margins, advertising, inventory, fees, and cash flow using the seller's reconciled ConnectBooks data from Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, TikTok, and eBay. Because it reads the reconciled data rather than raw marketplace exports, the fees, refunds, and COGS it reasons over are the same figures that reached the ledger. What it cannot do: fill in a landed cost that was never entered, or see a channel that is not connected. Its answers are only as complete as the books it reads.

What does ConnectBooks post to the ledger?

Settlement reconciliation at the transaction level: sales, refunds, each fee type on its own account, and reimbursements, tied to the bank deposit. FIFO-based COGS relieved at sale. Inventory value, tracked by warehouse, including units in transit on transfers. Landed cost allocation from purchase orders. The detail level depends on the tier: the pricing page distinguishes summary posting from per-SKU posting. On top of the ledger sync, ConnectBooks produces SKU-level and channel-level profit reports, comparison reports, and a PPC ROI view inside the platform.

Does the inventory side work with a separate inventory or order management tool?

ConnectBooks tracks stock by warehouse (not by bin or zone), supports bundles, kits, multipacks, and assemblies, holds transfers as in transit until received, and values inventory under FIFO. When a seller also runs an order management or inventory tool with an integration page, the working rule is that one system owns inventory value and posts COGS. If both post COGS, every sale is costed twice. Decide which system owns value before connecting, and set the other to supply quantities only.

Where should a new seller start?

Read the integrations page to confirm every channel and tool you run is listed. Then the pricing page to pick a tier by the detail level you want in the ledger. Then the 30-day trial, starting with one marketplace, with the chart of accounts and SKU mapping set up before the first sync. Add the second channel after the first month's close ties out. Sellers who want to see their own data before committing can book a demo from the site.
